Academic Year Course A25 / A40
Non-EU/EEA students and Working in Ireland |
As of April 18th, 2005, to be entitled to work up to 20 hours per week, EFL students from outside the European Union, the European Economic Area and Switzerland must:
- Study only at a school recognized by the Irish Department of Education and Science
- Attend a course of at least 25 weeks paid for in advance and leading to a recognised EFL examination e.g. any of the Cambridge examinations, TOEIC, TIE, IELTS, TOEFL.
Students studying on courses of under 25 weeks are not entitled to work in Ireland.
The Academic Year Courses below are recognised by the Department of Education and Science for the purposes of access to work for non-EU/EEA students. |

Course Objectives
- Academic Year Courses of 25 and 40 weeks give you the chance to make extremely thorough progress in your English language skills
- Maximising all key language skills, based on an increasing understanding over time of how English works
Content
For students who want to achieve the highest level they can in English, this course is ideal. You have the time and will receive the encouragement to learn over time the real heart of the language through your studies at School and when meeting and talking with new people.
Your confidence will grow as your acquired skills start to become 'second nature'.
You will receive advice about taking recognised international Examinations during your course with us, which you can sit if you want official proof of your language proficiency.
You also have the chance to plan for higher education at college or university. We can advise you on suitable courses, application procedures and help with letters of introduction to educational institutions to which you wish to apply
Methodology
Highly effective combination of Interactive Communicative Approach (emphasis on processes of communication) and Structural Approach (breakdown of language into grammatical units to re-inforce practical usage).
